Hi.

Welcome to Kitchen Wisdom, a place to learn about old-timey, but very relevant, food skills!

I was in the kitchen on Saturday morning when I heard an impressive racket commence outdoors. Looking out the window over the privet hedge to the granite road that runs in front of our house, I couldn’t see anything amiss. But the racket continued. An insistent…honking.

Quickly slipping into the sun-faded flip flops I keep by the front door for hurried trips to accept UPS packages, I hurried outside and spotted the visitors right away.

Quite sociable, the pair of ladies ate from Miriam's hand.

A month or so ago, little Jessica and her parents who lived in the barn-house down the road a piece, moved away when it sold. They couldn’t take their geese with them, and they stood forlornly in front of the mailbox waiting in vain for their owners’ return.  Another neighbor took them in, but evidently they are still deciding where they want to live!

"Can we come in the garden please?"

"Can we come in the garden please?"

We were all sad the day the neighbor came to retrieve them, geese are so much fun we may just have to get a pair!
